A deposit locks the slot
Each experience shows its price and its deposit up front. The deposit is at least 20% of the price and is paid on M-Pesa after the host accepts.
The balance is paid at the meetup
You pay the remaining amount to the host in person when you meet, and the host marks it received in the app.
Refunds by the clock
Cancel early and the deposit comes back in full. The later the cancellation, the smaller the refund.

Is this a taxi or a car rental?
Neither. You book a timed experience in a specific car, and the owner drives it. You never take the wheel and the car never leaves its owner.
How do I pay?
The deposit is paid on M-Pesa inside the app through an STK prompt on your phone. The balance is paid to the host at the meetup, in cash or M-Pesa, as you both agree.
When is my booking confirmed?
As soon as your deposit lands. The host first accepts your request, then you have 12 hours to pay the deposit before the slot is released.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel 24 hours or more before the drive and you get 100% of the deposit. Less than 24 hours before it is 50% of the deposit, and on the day there is no refund.
How many people can come?
Each listing sets its own limit, up to 3 guests. You choose the number when you book.
Who are the hosts?
Car owners in Mombasa who applied, uploaded their ID and car documents, and were approved by our team. Verified hosts carry a badge in the app.
How do hosts get paid?
Deposits are collected by Unik Ride Tales on M-Pesa and paid out to hosts weekly, less a 20% service fee. The balance goes straight to the host at the meetup.
Which phones does the app support?
Android and iPhone, with a Kenyan (+254) phone number for sign-in.
